Membership Applications Open For New Wayne Community Center The Wayne YMCA is officially closing on Nov. 2, and the Township will begin running the facility as a community center.WAYNE, NJ — As Wayne Township prepares to take over operation of the YMCA facility, applications have opened up for memberships at the soon-to-be community center.
The YMCA is officially closing on Nov. 2 , according to an online announcement. In August, Wayne Township's Council approved a bond measure that will fund the $12.2 million purchase of the building on Pike Drive.
Many of the same programs will be available when the township Department of Parks and Recreation begins running the community center, such swim lessons, youth and adult programs, theater and dance classes, and personal training. The fitness center and swimming pool will also be available for members or daily visitors.
An online application is now available on the township website for any Wayne resident or non-resident who wants to become a member. The fee structure includes rates for residents and non-residents, and offers two membership tiers: standard and premium. Both monthly and yearly memberships are available.
A "student" category has been added for Wayne residents between the ages of 14 and 17. So, for residents, the standard monthly memberships are priced as follows:

After Nov. 3, in-person memberships will be available at the new community center at 1 Pike Drive.
