Mentone Film Festival will offer variety of feature and short films
The sixth annual Mentone Film Festival, with a variety of short and feature-length films, will be held Nov. 8-10 at the Portuguese American Club, 1133 Crafton Ave., Mentone.
The festival opens 6 p.m. Nov. 8 with eight short films, including "Orange Rush," a documentary by DragonFire Studios, Redlands; and "Midnight Blue," a music video with Melissa Manchester and Dolly Parton, according to the festival's website . The films will be followed by a reception.
Following the opening night, films will be screened in blocks of about 90 minutes, beginning at noon and 2, 4 and 6 p.m. Nov. 9 and 10. In some blocks, one feature film will be shown. Others will include several short films, and the selections are different in each block and on each day, with more than 30 films to be screened during the festival. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Films scheduled for the festival include dramas, comedies, documentaries, Westerns, thrillers, romance and more.
The 6 p.m. screening Nov. 9 will feature more than a dozen short films by high school and college students, including some by Orangewood High School students, according to the festival's website .
