Michigan State opens as three-touchdown home underdog to Ohio State

Michigan State hasn't come within 24 points of beating Ohio State in the teams' last five meetings. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that the Buckeyes are favored by that much in the teams' 2024 matchup.

The Spartans opened at 24.5-point underdogs on Sunday for the teams' Saturday matchup at Spartan Stadium. Michigan State has only been a home underdog by more points three times since 1990.

The line came out soon after Michigan State lost a close Saturday night game at Boston College, giving up a go-ahead touchdown in the final two minutes of the game.

Ohio State, meanwhile, has looked impressive against subpar competition: it has outscored Akron, Western Michigan and Marshall 157-20. The Buckeyes have the Big Ten's top statistical offense and defense.

The two teams will kick off at 7 p.m. on Saturday night on Peacock.
