Michigan State vs. Penn State: How to watch, game info, series history
Detroit – Michigan State (4-7, 2-6) will look to finish the season on a high note when it takes on No. 11 Penn State (9-2, 6-2) Friday evening at Ford Field.
Michigan State has won two of its last three games, falling to the nation’s No. 2-ranked team, Ohio State, and defeating Nebraska and Indiana. The Spartans most recently took down the Hoosiers in Bloomington, 24-21, last Saturday.
Meanwhile, Penn State is 9-2 and coming off a bounce-back victory over Rutgers, 27-6, last weekend. The Nittany Lions fell at home to No. 3 Michigan, 24-15, the weekend prior. Penn State is vying for its fourth season with a double-digit win total during James Franklin’s tenure.

A brief look at Penn StatePenn State fired its offensive coordinator, Mike Yurcich , following its loss to Michigan. Running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider and tight ends coach Ty Howle took over as co-coordinators.
The Nittany Lion offense is led by sophomore running back tandem Nicholas Singleton Kaytron Allen . Singleton has 584 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 4.0 yards per carry. Allen has tallied 714 yards on 4.9 yards per carry with six touchdowns on the season.
Sophomore quarterback Drew Allar —who is expected to play after suffering a minor injury against Rutgers—has accumulated 2,044 yards, 21 touchdowns and has thrown just one interception.
Junior wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith leads all receivers with 52 receptions and 651 yards. Tight end Tyler Warren tops all Nittany Lions with six touchdown receptions.
Former Detroit Cass Tech standout linebacker Kobe King leads the Penn State defense with 49 tackles on the season. Kobe’s twin brother, Kalen King , has 28 tackles from his cornerback position.
Penn State’s pass rush has generated 42 sacks through its first 11 games. Defensive end Adisa Isaac has tallied 6.5 sacks, while cornerback Johnny Dixon and defensive end Chop Robinson have four sacks each.

Michigan State and Penn State have met 37 times prior to Friday’s game. The all-time series is tied, 18-18-1.
Penn State defeated Michigan Sate last season, 35-16, at Beaver Stadium in University Park, Pa. The Spartans cut the Nittany Lions’ lead to just five with 10:52 remaining in the fourth quarter. Penn State would go on to score 14-unanswered points, running out the clock to seal the victory. Michigan State finished the season 5-7 with a 3-6 in-conference record.
The Spartans have won six of the last 10 meetings, with their latest victory coming in 2021. Led by running back Kenneth Walker and wide receiver Jayden ReedMichigan State overcame a 3-point third-quarter deficit to beat Penn State, 37-20, at Spartan Stadium, finishing the regular season on a high note. The Spartans would go on to win the Chick-Fila-A Peach Bowl with a 31-21 victory over Pittsburgh.
