MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- A Midland man was arrested Wedensday after he allegedly hid a ring camera inside a woman's bedroom closet. 35-year-old Jonathan Parrish Aiguier has been charged with Invasive Visual Recording, a State Jail Felony.

According to the arrest affidavit, which was redacted and limited due to a pending federal case concerning crimes against children, on November 3, a woman saw a surveillance camera hidden inside a basket on the shelf in her bedroom closet and unplugged it before her estranged husband, Aiguier, began to call and text while apologizing for the camera, leading her to believe that he had been watching her.

Police reports added that Aiguier does not live in the home due to a pending federal case concerning crimes against children.

According to official reports, Aiguier said he "only wanted to watch [her] brush her hair and put her makeup on. " However, the woman told police it was "common knowledge" that she undresses and gets dressed in the closet and does not brush her hair or do her makeup in that area either.

Officials reported that the woman told police she was afraid Aiguier would use the recordings of her and share them on the internet, adding that she had not given consent and felt violated.

Police said that based on the clear violation of privacy and reports from the woman, Aiguier was charged with Invasive Visual Recording and booked into the Midland County Detention Center on Wednesday, November 6 where he remains as of Friday morning with a $50,000 bond.
