Millcreek voters approve study commission. What happens now?
On election night, Millcreek voters approved the creation of a study that will evaluate their current form of government and how it operates.
At last count, over 17,500 Millcreek residents voted in favor of the study, with just 12,300 voting "no."
Seven commissioners were also elected as part of the initiative, where they'll be tasked with conducting the study, evaluating operations, and holding public meetings to discuss work being done.
Soon, those commissioners will be sworn in by the township. They'll look at expenses and best practices across Pennsylvania.
"There's a lot of things to look at. The hard work is just beginning. First, we'll have a look as to what we have and then we'll compare our form of government and what we do with other like-sized townships in the state of Pennsylvania," said Art Oligeri, chairman of the Millcreek Government Study Commission.
