Doty said the Broadband Infrastructure Program has made a huge impact, and they're in the finishing stages of the project.

"We put our heads together, and we did a grant application for the Broadband Infrastructure Program. It was about $250 million across the nation, and were were, say, $32 million for Mississippi projects. Ad we have 10, I think, 10 different providers with 12 different projects around the state, and we are at the end of that program," Doty said. "Some of the projects are finishing up or are close, and we have really stretched every dime out of that."

Doty said they're still working to expand broadband access across the state.
