Mooretown shooting victim identified by Caddo Coroner

SHREVEPORT, La. ( KTAL/KMSS ) — The Caddo Parish Coroner's office identifies a man who was shot multiple times while riding as a passenger in a van in Mooretown on Friday.
The Coroner stated, 'Tracey Chapman, 43, was at the intersection of Powell and Singletary streets when bullets struck Chapman, mortally wounding him. He was taken to Willis-Knighton Medical Center on Greenwood Road, where he succumbed to his wounds at 7:40 a.m.'

He was positively identified through fingerprint comparison, said the Coroner.
This was the 42nd homicide inside the city limits to date in 2024 and the 45th death in Caddo Parish. Shreveport police continue to investigate the slaying.
