Morgan Dale Christensen

Born to Martin Elmer and Melba Morgan Christensen in Salt Lake City, UT. Dale and his eternal companion, Carolyn Cahoon, were blessed with six children, sixteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren (and counting). He is preceded in death by his wife, twin

sons, his parents, and sister. He graduated from Granite High School in Salt Lake City, 1952, where he played the cello in the school orchestra. Attended Utah State University, earning a BS in Agriculture, 1959 and a Masters in Horticulture, 1963. His thesis, was typed on a typewriter by his wife while he dictated it. Obtained, PhD in Agriculture from Michigan State University, 1968. Dale worked for Ciba-Geigy, 1966 to 1994 and then started his own company, Plant Protection Consulting, 1994 to 2001. He made significant contributions to the field of agriculture, to help improve crop management and agricultural practices. Served in the United States National Guard. Lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Served a full-time mission in the Eastern States and purchased a car to use while serving as missionary. Served as a Home Teacher and Minister, Elders Quorum President, Bishop, counselor in the Stake Presidency, and within the Cambodian Branch. With Carolyn, they served missions in Birmingham, England; Nauvoo, Illinois Temple; LDS Employment Center; Oakland Family History Center; and the Oakland Temple. Volunteered with The Church Girls Camp for 15+ years and earned the esteemed – Tree Award! Devoted 50+ years to the Boy Scouts of America. A dedicated 11 year old Scout Leader. Earned the Rimrover, Scouter of the year, several Eagle Mentor Pins, and awarded the highest Boy Scout service honor – the Silver Beaver! His example taught others about God's love and devotion to family, community and country. Donations welcome to
