Motorcyclist dead after crash in Sun City West

SUN CITY WEST, AZ (AZFamily) — A man is dead after being hit while riding his motorcycle in Sun City West on Saturday evening.

Around 6 p.m., Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the area of R H Johnson and Meeker Boulevards , just north of Grand Avenue, for a car and motorcycle collision.

A man riding the motorcycle, later identified as 50-year-old Paul Scheiffele, died at the scene. He has not been identified. The woman driving the car wasn't injured.

MCSO says impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash, but detectives are investigating.

The intersection was closed as crews worked to clear the scene and investigate the crash. It has since reopened.
