Motorcyclist killed in collision with vehicle in NE ABQ

Nov. 6—An unidentified biker was killed by a collision with a vehicle in the Northeast Heights Wednesday morning.

At about 6:30 a.m., the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a call of crash in the area of Candelaria and San Mateo, APD spokesperson Gilbert Gallegos said.

Gallegos said an Infinity Q60 was heading northbound on San Mateo when it passed the intersection at Candelaria and rear-ended a Vespa Primavera that was trying to turn right onto San Mateo northbound.

He said when officers arrived, the motorcyclist appeared to have died at the scene.

It is unclear if the driver has been charged. The investigation is ongoing, Gallegos said.
