A motorcyclist in his early 20s was killed in a hit-and-run in Granada Hills on Oct. 17, the Los Angeles Police Department announced.

Around 9:50 p.m., a motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Devonshire Street at a high rate of speed. At the intersection with Louise Avenue, he ran a red light and collided with a vehicle traveling northbound. The driver of that vehicle stopped, police said.

The impact ejected the motorcyclist onto the westbound lanes of traffic where, a few moments later, he was hit by two vehicles traveling westbound on Devonshire. Both vehicles, a white SUV and a white sedan, failed to stop, identify themselves or render aid, according to LAPD.

Paramedics responded and declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.

Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact Valley Traffic Division, Investigator Takishita or Ramirez at (818) 644-8116.
