Assistance at bank appreciated

This is a special thank you to the people from Omega Bank on South Main
Street in Wilkes-Barre. Those wonderful people helped me — mostly the young
boy. I didn’t get your names, but God bless you all.

Turnout, support deserve praise

The City of Wilkes-Barre was proud to host a three-day Fourth of July
celebration in Kirby Park for residents and visitors.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was involved in
making this year’s event a success by showing their support and belief in the
city.

My administration is committed to bringing fun, innovative entertainment to
the city’s residents and visitors.

Thank you to the members of the Wyoming Valley Barbershop Harmony Chorus
and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic for bringing their fabulous
sounds to Kirby Park before the fireworks.

I would also like to thank all of the vendors who took part in this year’s
weekend-long celebration.

The city of Wilkes-Barre would also like to thank everyone involved with
the “Rhythms for a Reason” event, including the dedicated coordinators, band
members, event staff and volunteers who made this charitable event possible.

Most importantly, thank you to the unprecedented number of residents of the
city and surrounding areas for celebrating Independence Day with us. Based on
the crowd that blanketed Kirby Park on Monday night, there was certainly
something for everyone.

We are planning to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the city and we
hope that you will take part in our Bicentennial Celebration.

Once again, thank you for your continued cooperation and support of the
city of Wilkes-Barre.

Mayor Thomas M. Leighton Wilkes-Barre
Community made festival a success

Father Richard J. Cirba and the committee of the Holy Trinity Parish family
festival in Swoyersville wishes to extend their thanks to all the
participating parishioners and workers who staffed the various stations, our
excellent kitchen crew, our patrons, benefactors, friends, our set-up and
clean-up crews, and anyone who helped in any way to make our recent festival a
huge success.

A special thanks to the staff of the Times Leader, WNEP-TV and WBRE-TV.
