Recently the Mountaintop area lost a special friend. Dick Fisher had been ill
for the last few years and recently passed away. He has a wonderful family, a
wife and two daughters.

I first met Dick Fisher while coaching basketball and baseball. He was
involved in the Mountaintop community in several facets. He was a policeman,
firefighter and assisted with ambulance duties.
All of my children knew and respected him. He was a positive influence on
our lives. His wife Beverly was very active in PTA when we first moved to the
Mountaintop area. This is how we began our friendship with Bev and Dick.

I never remember Dick speaking badly about anyone or anything. He always
had time to listen to not only the young people, but to anyone who had a
problem. That is a very rare gift.

He was a fighter right up to the end. He never complained about life
because he had something very special a good wife and two special daughters.

If I could coin a phase which would describe him, I would repeat the words
Catfish Hunter, who said, “Winning isn’t everything, wanting to win is.”
Richard was a winner in every sense of the word.
