MSU Police release new photos of sexual assault suspect

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Michigan State University Police and Public Safety has released several new photographs showing the man they say is a suspect in a recent sexual assault on campus near the student union.

MSUPPS described the accused man in the case as a college-age Black male, 6 foot to 6 foot 2 inches tall, skinny build, light complexion, short tight curly hair, prescription glasses, last seen wearing a dark blue shirt, khaki shorts, backpack and black and white Nike tennis shoes.

MSU police are continuing to ask anyone with information to contact Detective Aaron Schroeder at 517-432-6102 or . You can also submit an anonymous tip by texting MSUPD to CRIMES (274637), or you can submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers of Mid-Michigan at 517-483-STOP (7867).

The university issued a "Timely Warning" notifying the campus community of a sexual assault near the Union at 10:44 p.m. September 12. The assault occurred at about 9:00 p.m. and was reported at 9:02 p.m. Thursday.

"On September 12, 2024, Michigan State University Police received a report of Sexual Assault that occurred at the East Lansing campus – East side of Abbot Road near MSU Union," the warning reported.
