PHELPS COUNTY, Mo. — A crash involving multiple overturned semi-trucks has brought traffic on westbound I-44 to a standstill.

According to a Facebook post from the Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District, the crash happened at about 8:22 a.m. near mile marker 178 in Doolittle.

Crews on scene report that multiple overturned tractor-trailers are involved, and the westbound lanes are completely shut down. So far, no injuries have been reported.

As of 9:04 a.m., the fire protection district says some have been stuck on the road for over an hour already and is advising drivers to avoid the area due to congestion.

A portion of I-44 is closed in both directions between Doolittle and St. Robert due to flooding conditions. According to MoDOT's Traveler Information Map, drivers can reroute through Houston, Missouri via Highway 63 to avoid that closure.

OzarksFirst will update this story as more information becomes available.
