LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Eight people were sentenced for their roles in a drug trafficking conspiracy out of Laredo.

One of the leaders in the conspiracy, Hector Flores, received the longest sentence of the group when a federal judge ordered Flores to serve more than 14 years in federal prison.

The other defendants received sentences ranging from five years to just over 11.

The investigation revealed several leaders of the group sourced drugs from a Mexican supplier and brought them to a Laredo stash house.

The leaders then helped package the drugs to distribute throughout the United States.
