PITTSTON – Because of inclement weather, the city has rescheduled street cleaning for Monday and Tuesday. There will be no parking on the odd side of South Main Street on Mondayand even side on Tuesday.
HANOVER TWP. – The Hanover Township Neighborhood Crime Watch Association will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the social room of the Christ United Presbyterian Church, 105 Lee Park Ave.

WEST WYOMING – The borough has begun weekly curbside yard waste collection. Residents south of West 8th Street to Swoyersville will have collections each Wednesday. Residents north of and including West 8th Street to Exeter will have collections each Thursday. Residents are advised that yard waste must be in open containers, weighting less than 30 pounds. No closed bags will be collected.
The first collections will take place this week.
JACKSON TWP. – The zoning office reminds residents that the township has an ordinance that requires a building permit for any new construction, repairs or alterations being done to any building or property.
Building permits may be applied for at the zoning office in the municipal building, 2211 Huntsville Road. Zoning office hours are 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

LUZERNE – Residents are reminded that a building permit is required for anyone seeking to construct, enlarge, repair, move, remove, improve, convert, demolish a structure or change its use. Permits must be obtained before the start of any work and prominently posted at the site of the job.

WYOMING – Recycling will be collected on Thursdays. Newspapers and commingled will alternate weeks for pickup. Commingled recycling will be collected on May 3. Newspapers will be collected on April 26.
Residents who need to report uncollected garbage or recycling should call 883-0725.
Residents are also reminded that no political signs are allowed on the tree lawn. Signs must be in your yard.
EXETER – Garbage stickers are now in the penalty phase.
The cost of a garbage sticker is now $200. It is mandatory to purchase a garbage sticker per borough ordinance. Failure to purchase a sticker will result in a citation from the district judge.
Stickers may be purchased at the borough office or by sending a check for $200 in a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Exeter Borough, 1101 Wyoming Ave.
WEST NANTICOKE – Chief John Rinehimer and President Al Ottensman of the Tilbury Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company, West Nanticoke, Plymouth Township, advise residents to be very careful when burning outdoors because of the upcoming dry season. When burning outdoors, be careful of windy conditions and never leave the fire unattended.
LARKSVILLE – The borough will conduct a white goods pickup from May 7 to 11.
All items must be paid for in advance ($5 each) at the borough building and will include any metal item, appliance and tires. Televisions will not be accepted.
Yard waste pickup will begin on May 7 and continue every Monday through Oct. 29. Residents must purchase biodegradable paper yard waste bags which hold 33 pounds at local merchants. No other containers will be accepted.
Ashes will be collected once a month on the third Friday beginning in May.
FORTY FORT – Anyone wishing to make a payment may mail it with a stamped, self-addressed envelope, or leave their payments in the collector’s lockbox located at the borough building. The rebate period for county/municipal taxes ends May 3. When sending your payment by mail, the bar-coded portion of the bill is what must be received with the check in order to process the payment. If not received, the check and other part will be returned to the individual making payment.
