Mustangs tumble to 2-21 with double loss at home triangular

MCCOOL JUNCTION - It was the final tune-up for the McCool Junction volleyball team before the start of the Crossroads Conference Volleyball Tournament on Saturday in York.

The Mustangs took on the No. 1 CRC seed BDS and in their second match they faced the No. 3 seed Dorchester Longhorns.

BDS with a record of 21-3 is the No. 2 rated team in the Omaha World-Herald D-1 rankings. The Eagles won the match by the scores of 25-3 and 25-15.

In the loss to Dorchester the Longhorns improved to 16-9 with the 25-12 and 25-11 win.

The Longhorns took the Eagles to three sets before losing the match 26-28, 25-8 and 25-18.

McCool Junction will open tournament play at the York City Auditorium at 12 noon on Saturday and will face the No. 5 seed Nebraska Lutheran Knights. The winner of that game will advance to play High Plains.
