This is the hilarious moment a cat brought home a winning scratchcard - bagging her owner £10.

Megan Christian, 33, of Penzance, Cornwall, says her one-year-old pet called Monkey often arrives back home with unusual items.

She has previously dragged home a Wetherspoons menu, a coffee sachet and chicken from KFC .

Now, after turning up with a winning scratchcard, Megan, who works as a carer, said: 'When she brought home the scratchcard I couldn't believe it - I was like, "really, a winning scratchcard?"

'It really intrigued me. I have no idea where she gets these things from. But every time she's back I'm like, "Oh wow, what has she got now?'"'

Footage shows Monkey climbing up the roof of her home, prompting Megan to ask: 'Monkey, where have you been and what have you got?'

After the cat then climbs up on to the window ledge, Megan takes the piece of paper from her mouth before realising it is a scratchcard.

She then asks, 'is it a winner?', before studying the scratched out numbers and finding out that it is indeed one.

Monkey's treasure hunts began six months ago, with the first item being wall plugs, followed by a child's dummy.

The cat has also brought home a stuffed pickle recently, which Megan found amusing.

She said: 'It's called an emotional support pickle, which was quite funny.'

Megan keeps all of Monkey's finds in a little box and plans to cash in the scratchcard to buy something nice.

It comes after a cat in China quietly stayed inside her student owner's desk after being secretly bought into class.

Viral footage showed the one-year-old Munchkin cat, a breed known for its short legs, quietly lying inside the desk and looking around, seemingly trying to hide from the lecturer.

Ms Wen, the pet owner, told MailOnline that she had to bring her cat to the classroom after the clingy feline wouldn't let her leave home without him.

The university student from the city of Xi'an in north-western China said she was getting ready for class on Friday morning when her pet, Ba Dun, started snuggling up to her.

'Ba Dun kept cuddling up to my leg and looking really sad because he wanted me to stay with him,' Ms Wen told MailOnline.

'But I was running late for my class. I couldn't bear letting him down so I brought him with me to the classroom,' she added.
