Navasota picks up second win in row 34-12 over Waco

NAVASOTA, Texas (KBTX) - The Navasota football team beat Waco 34-12 at Rattler Stadium for Homecoming on Friday night.

The scoring didn't start until 3:04 left in the first half. Jace Jablonski found Markerian Wesley-Stamps for a 38-yard touchdown to start the scoring. Artavian Rutherford had a 7-yard touchdown run for the Rattlers' other score in the first half to take a 13-6 lead.

Aydan Dorman sealed the game with a 12-yard touchdown run to give the Rattlers a 27-6 lead in the fourth quarter. Rutherford scored again with a 13-yard touchdown run to pad the lead.

Waco's RJ Young found Bryany Whitaker Jr. for a 43-yard touchdown late in the second quarter which tied the game 6-6 after Navasota blocked the extra point attempt.

The Rattlers hit the road for their final pre-district game next week at La Grange.
