Penn State report card vs. Washington
Grading Penn State on its 35-6 win over Washington Saturday night at Beaver Stadium:
Drew Allar threw some pretty passes and avoided sacks without a turnover. Beau Pribula made an impact in a limited role.
Running backs
Kaytron Allen, Nick Singleton and freshman Corey Smith combined for 260 yards from scrimmage.
Tyler Warren and Harrison Wallace III had productive games and made caches for explosive gains. Julian Fleming scored his first TD for the Lions.
Offensive linemen
They made a big rebound and allowed Penn State to gain 486 total yards and average 6.6 per rush.
Defensive linemen
Abdul Carter was unblockable and Alonzo Ford was a rock at tackle. The front four helped limit Washington to 74 rushing yards, 2.2 per carry.
Kobe King was outstanding with seven tackles, including a sack, but Dominic DeLuca and Tony Rojas combined for one tackle.
Defensive backs
Jaylen Reed made his third interception of the season and seven tackles. Zakee Wheatley continued his in-season progression.
Special teams
A holding penalty wiped out Nick Singleton's 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and Ryan Barker had the first miss of his career.
The Lions showed no signs of a letdown after the loss to Ohio State. Play-calling on offense was much better than it was last week.
