Nearly 10k customers without power in North Seattle

Nearly 10,000 customers were without power Sunday night, according to Seattle City Light.

At 3:10 p.m., 4,809 customers in the Ballard and Sunset Hill neighborhoods lost power, followed by an additional 4,440 customers at 4:31 p.m.

In a statement, Seattle City Light said wires were down at 8th Avenue Northwest and Northwest 47th Street, which caused the first outage.

A KIRO 7 viewer said she heard a transformer blow right before the second outage.

According to Seattle City Light, power is expected to be restored by 11:12 p.m.

The governor of Ohio and city officials in Columbus are speaking out after a group of armed, masked individuals marched through the streets of the Ohio capital city Saturday dressed in black and holding flags with swastikas on them. The unidentified people were spotted around 1 p.m. walking through the Short North neighborhood, according to Columbus ABC affiliate WSYX. Individuals in the group were detained, but no arrests were ultimately made, according to the Columbus Police Department.

Authorities have identified body parts found in a freezer earlier this year in Colorado as belonging to a teenager who went missing nearly two decades ago. The Mesa County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the remains are those of Amanda Leariel Overstreet, who had not been seen since April 2005. Her head and hands were discovered in a freezer at a home in Grand Junction, about 240 miles west of Denver, in January. Overstreet was the biological daughter of the home's previous owners. The remains were found when the new owners, who had recently purchased and remodeled the home, attempted to give away the freezer. Investigators have emphasized that the current owners are not connected to the case. Overstreet's disappearance had never been formally reported, and the case remains under investigation, according to the sheriff's office.
