Nebraska volleyball holds onto No. 1 spot, while Creighton stays at No. 17
For the sixth straight week, Nebraska volleyball was No. 1 in the latest AVCA poll released Monday, while Creighton remained at No. 17.
Rounding out the top five were No. 2 Stanford, No. 3 Wisconsin, No. 4 Pittsburgh and No. 5 Texas.
The Huskers closed out the regular season with their first loss of the season at Wisconsin before rebounding and defeating Minnesota.
Nebraska also claimed the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA tournament and will face Long Island in Lincoln on Friday at 7 p.m. The match will be available to stream on ESPN+.
The Big Ten has four teams in this week's rankings with No. 1 Nebraska, No. 2 Wisconsin, No. 12 Purdue (tied with Georgia Tech) and No. 14 Penn State. The conference has five teams in the NCAA tournament: Nebraska, Wisconsin, Purdue, Penn State and Minnesota.
Creighton held onto its No. 17 spot in the latest poll
The Bluejays claimed not only the Big East regular-season title but the Big East tournament title as well last week.
The Jays also clinched a No. 3 seed in NCAA tournament, meaning they host the first two rounds. Creighton will take on Colgate in the opening round on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
Creighton is the lone Big East team in the rankings this week, though Marquette is receiving votes. The two are the long conference teams in the NCAA tournament.
