LEBANON — Joey Logano walked away the victor of the NASCAR Ally 400 , one of the main events from Sunday's race at Nashville Superspeedway came thanks to drivers Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson .

Hamlin, who ultimately finished 12th, was leading with less than five laps to go. Cautions stalled the finish but the two continued to battle for the top spot, even into the multiple overtimes.

Larson, who finished eighth, recognized the earlier clash between the two, but said it was two-sided rather than all on him.

"He was just upset with the way I was racing him at the end of the second stage . . . but it's racing," he said. "I feel like we race well together at times and then there's times when I feel like he races me not the fairest, and I'm sure he feels the same way."

Hamlin and Larson's car made contact near the end of the race, causing Hamlin, who had led for 70 laps, to make contact with Larson. Both had to make pit stops in order to get to the checkered flag following multiple restarts.

This was the second week that Hamlin and Larson got into an altercation. Last week in Iowa , the two also made contact, which caused Larson to have a heated conversation with his spotter, Tyler Monn.

Hamlin acknowledged what seems like a consistent aggressive conflict but chalked it up to just regular racing contests and nothing more.

"It was an eye for an eye. I ran him up track a little bit last week and he ran me up track this week," Hamlin said. "It was all good."

Larson was a bit more direct when talking about the rivalry with Hamlin after the race but hopes to move past it sooner than later.

"It's not an ongoing rivalry but there's definitely weeks and stretches where it complies," Larson said. "Hopefully we can move on from it soon and I can get a little bit of respect from him."
