NFL makes Saquon Barkley drug test decision after RB’s incredible backwards leap play in Eagles-Jaguars game
SAQUON Barkley revealed he was drug tested after his amazing play this weekend.
The running back pulled off a backwards hurdle over a Jacksonville Jaguars defender.
Barkley , 27, surprised even himself with the outrageous show of athleticism.
His play was the latest highlight in his Philadelphia Eagles career after his switch from the New York Giants in the summer.
Viewers were left in disbelief at the play.
And apparently NFL bosses were also stunned as well.
Barkley revealed he was asked to take a drug test by the league.
In an interview with Whistle Sports, Barkley said, "I got drug tested right after the game."
Random drug tests are common practice in the NFL.
Barkley's just happened to come after his incredible play.
"What really happened was I was going to hit a double spin," Barkley explained.
"I aborted it, so when I spun I went to spin again.
"I thought he was going low, so I thought I'd be cool if I jump up and my body took over."
Barkley said after the game, "I've got to give credit to God, man. I'm not going to lie.
"I feel like God gave me the ability to play this position and gave me some instincts.
"Sometimes you've got to let go and let God and your instincts take over."
Barkley's play even left his usually outspoken coach Nick Sirianni "speechless."
I was going to hit a double spin. I aborted it, so when I spun I went to spin again. I thought he was going low, so I thought I'd be cool if I jump up and my body took over.
Saquon Barkley"It was the best play I've ever seen," Sirianni said.
"What I think is so cool, there's going to be kids all over the country and all over Philadelphia trying to make that play and talking about that play and simulating that play as they play backyard football or peewee football.
"They ain't going to be able to make it.
"I believe he's the only one in the world that can do that.
"I'm speechless. It was unbelievable."
