NFL Picks, Props And Odds For Week 11 Monday Night Football Texans-Cowboys

S.Brown37 min ago

The NFL Week 11 schedule concludes with the 8th Monday Night Football game of the season between interconference teams. The AFC South first place Houston Texans (6-4) against the disappointing NFC East Dallas Cowboys (3-6), who are winless at home this season and on a current 0-4 straight up and against the spread (ATS) run. The Texans have lost two in a row and three of their last four games, and are laying 7-points on the road. That's how bad the Cowboys have been, with zero TD's and 10 turnovers in their last two home games. Dallas will also play their second straight game without QB Dak Prescott, who is out for the season and having surgery on his hamstring.

The Week 11 NFL schedule featured a pair of close, exciting games and finishes with the Pittsburgh Steelers holding off the Baltimore Ravens 18-16 in a first place AFC North showdown. The Buffalo Bills scored a late 4th quarter touchdown to secure a 30-21 win and deliver the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the season.

Then the Sunday Night Football feature was a thriller in the second half as 'cool' Joe Burrow rallied the Cincinnati Bengals in the second half with 21 unanswered points to tie the Los Angeles Chargers 27-27. The Bengals kicker then missed a 48 yard and 51 yard field goal in the closing minutes only to see the other elite quarterback on the field, Justin Herbert lead a 4-play 84-yard TD drive for the 34-27 win in the closing seconds.

That win by the Chargers kept them in the AFC West race and currently the top wild card team in the AFC with seven games remaining. Next week's Monday Night Football feature in Week 12 on Nov. 25 is a special one. Head coaching brothers John Harbaugh and the Baltimore Ravens (7-4) against Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers (7-3).

Texans-Cowboys Matchups And Props

Bob Stoll of Dr. Bob Sports provides additional matchups and advance stats for the Texans-Cowboys matchup with information you can bet on. The updated injury report and media updates show last year's Defensive Rookie of the Year Will Anderson, Jr. (ankle) will miss his second straight game for the Texans. Also, Texans defensive tackle Folorunso Fatukasi will be out with a foot injury and offensive tackle Blake Fisher will miss the game because of a concussion.

  • Texans' WR Nico Collins will be back on the field on Monday night but it's unlikely to vault Houston's offense into the elite tier. The Texans had a 37% early down success rate in the first 5 weeks of the season with Collins (31st).
  • CJ Stroud has faced a league-high 50 plays of third-and-10+, providing a favorable matchup for the Cowboys pass rush, which is the strength of this Dallas defense. Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons returned to the lineup last week and got 2.0 sacks. Dallas had a 54% pressure rate against the Eagles.
  • The weakness of the Dallas defense is stopping the run, but the Texans will not be able to take advantage as Houston's offense only has a 33% rush success rate (31st). The Texans had a 56% run-play rate on first down last Sunday night and managed just a 6% success rate on those rushes.
  • Cowboys RT Terence Steele has surrendered 29 pressures (2nd-most) and he will struggle versus edge defender Danielle Hunter, who has 5.5 sacks (18th).
  • Cooper Rush will get the ball out quickly to WR CeeDee Lamb and TE Jake Ferguson, who has lined up in the slot on 59% of his passing snaps. Texans nickelback Jalen Pitre is surrendering 1.39 yards per cover snap in the slot (4th-worst).
  • Our model makes Houston a 4.5-point favorite, with a predicted total of 39.3 points, and Dallas applies to a 90-41-2 ATS situation that plays on teams coming off a loss of 24 points or more.
