Thomas Cortes had a goal and two assists to lift second-seeded Elizabeth, No. 18 in the NJ.com Top 20, to a 4-1 victory over 15th-seeded Ridge in the first round of the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 tournament in Elizabeth. Edgar Doh, Brandon Delgado and Juan Quiroz each added a goal for Elizabeth (14-4). Miguel Brito dished out two assists and Mackendy Hermann made two saves. Elizabeth will host seventh-seeded Watchung Hills in the quarterfinals. Dylan Rocha scored the lone goal for Ridge (3-12-1) and Oliver Perks made eight saves.
