North country high school football preview: Nov. 7-9
The second week of high school football playoffs is upon us and there are some huge games coming up.
There will be the Section 3 Class B-2 Final and the Section 10 Class B championship. The rest of the games will be semifinal matchups with trips to the JMA Wireless Dome on the line.

Thursday, November 7
Jamesville-DeWitt (6-3) at South Jefferson (6-2), 7 p.m.: It's the Section 3 Class B-2 title game between the Spartans and the Red Rams. South Jeff defeated Mexico, 42-10, last week while J-D rolled part Cortland, 43-6. The Spartans won the first meeting, 47-14.
Friday, November 8
Beaver River (6-4) at Dolgeville (8-0), 6 p.m.: The Beavers take on the Blue Devils in a Section 3 Class D semifinal. Beaver River edged Herkimer, 8-7, last week while Dolgeville routed Pulaski, 63-6. The Blue Devils downed the Beavers, 52-12, earlier in the season.
Carthage (8-1) at Indian River (8-1), 7 p.m.: Our game of the week is another chapter in the rivalry between the Comets and Wolves. Carthage thumped Homer, 57-8, while Indian River rolled past Oneida, 54-15. The Comets rallied to win a 41-38 game on September 20.
OFA (7-1) at Potsdam (8-0), p.m.: It's the Section 10 Class B championship game between the Blue Devils and Sandstoners. OFA topped Massena, 41-7, while Potsdam defeated Canton, 26-15. The Sandstoners scratched out a 12-6 victory over the Blue Devils on September 27.
Saturday, November 9
Skaneateles (8-1) at General Brown (9-0), 11 a.m.: Our final game of the weekend is the Lions hosting the Lakers in a Class C semifinal. Skaneateles won a close 35-32 game over Canastota while General Brown beat Marcellus, 59-29.
