Northwest Area Seniors Honored During Senior Awards Assembly

The Northwest School District seniors looked very formal in their gowns of
white and navy blue at the Senior Awards Assembly on June 2. Excited at the
thought of the future, saddened at leaving the known behind, the young people
were together as a class for possibly one of the last times. Their class
colors are baby blue and royal blue, and their class song is “We didn’t start
the fire.” They picked the cactus as their class flower.
After a welcome speech by Robert S. Gardner, Northwest Area Superintendent,
Matthew Pugh was awarded the first award, the Army Reserve Scholar Athlete
Award. Several students received a great many awards.
After the awards ceremony, senior class adviser, Cindy Jerrytone invited
everyone to enjoy refreshments available in the cafeteria.
