Notre Dame men's basketball signs top-10 2025 recruiting class, led by five-star guard Jalen Haralson
In late September, Notre Dame men's basketball verbally secured its highest-ranked recruiting class since the internet recruiting era began. On Wednesday morning, the Irish made it official.
Five-star guard Jalen Haralson , four-star guard Ryder Frost , four-star forward Brady Koehler and four-star center Tommy Ahneman signed with Notre Dame on Wednesday and will join the Irish in 2025. Second-year head coach Micah Shrewsberry built the No. 6 class in men's college basketball, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
Haralson is the headliner, as the highest-ranked Notre Dame signee in the internet recruiting era. The No. 13 player in the On3 Industry Ranking can play on or off the ball at 6-foot-6, 205 pounds, and he should form one of the most dangerous backcourts in the country with current sophomores Markus Burton Braeden Shrewsberry .
The La Porte (Ind.) La Lumiere star plans to be a one-and-done player in South Bend, and he chose the Irish over Indiana and Michigan State because he trusts Micah Shrewsberry to maximize his NBA Draft potential.
"There's a lot of coaches that say they'll do one thing, but [Shrewsberry] showed me his plan and he's done it before," Haralson told Blue & Gold shortly after he committed. "I trust him and his staff. It's a great staff. It's a great school. It's a culture I want to be a part of and help build."
First to commit to Notre Dame — two days before Haralson made his pledge — was Koehler (pronounced KAY-ler), a power forward from Indianapolis Cathedral. With his 6-foot-9 frame, 7-foot wing span, shooting, shot-blocking and athleticism, the Irish believe they can develop Koehler into an NBA player after multiple seasons in South Bend.
Koehler is the No. 85 player in the On3 Industry Ranking.
Frost, a 6-foot-6 wing from Exeter (N.H.) Phillips Exeter Academy, is considered one of the best three-point shooters in the 2025 class. The No. 81 player in the On3 Industry Ranking drilled 44.2 percent of his three-pointers (on 8.6 attempts per game) this past AAU season with Middlesex Magic. He also scored 15.1 points per game at an efficient clip, averaging 1.21 points per possession.
Haralson, Frost and Koehler all visited Notre Dame the weekend of Sept. 7. Ahneman (pronounced AH-neman), whom the Irish offered in July, made his first trip to campus Sept. 28. He told Shrewsberry he was committing during the second quarter of Notre Dame's win over Louisville.
Ahneman is 6-foot-11 with a 7-foot-2 wingspan, and while he's the No. 167 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, On3's own rankings have him at No. 51. The center who will play his senior season at St. Paul (Minn.) Cretin-Derham Hall is as strong of a post scorer as anyone in the class. He's a late riser, earning his first high-major offer from Penn State on May 22.
