Oakland County woman wins $2 million on Michigan Lottery instant ticket

An Oakland County woman is lucky the person in front of her at the gas station didn't buy one more Strike It Rich instant lottery ticket.

The woman, 64, was in line at Meaad Enterprizes LLC, located at 1950 E. 12 Mile Road in Warren, when the person in front of her purchased several of the tickets for $20 each.

"... I decided to go for it and buy one, too," the woman, who chose to remain anonymous, told the Michigan Lottery.

It ended up winning her $2 million, according to the Michigan Lottery .

"I scratched the ticket off when I got in my car, and immediately locked the doors and signed the ticket when I saw I'd won $2 million," she said. "It still hasn't fully sunk in that I won!"

She recently claimed her prize and opted to receive a one-time lump sum payment of about $1.3 million instead of annuity payments for the full amount.

She plans to use the money to pay off her car, complete home improvements and give to charities.

"Winning is going to make a big difference for me and my family and it's going to change our lives," she said.

Strike It Rich has three top prizes worth $2,000,000. Two of the prizes remain unclaimed.
