Oklahoma Kum & Go stores will get new name after buyout
Say goodbye to Kum & Go.
The new corporate owners of the gas station chain with a funny name have begun to rebrand all stores as Maverik.
Maverik, a Salt Lake City-based company that operates its own chain of convenience stores, bought Kum & Go in late 2023. The new owners quickly began converting stores in Utah, Idaho, Colorado and Wyoming to the new branding, but plans to convert other stores across the country weren't revealed until now.
Maverik began notifying Oklahoma Kum & Go loyalty cardholders in October that it would begin rebranding stores , starting with 14 locations in the Tulsa area, according to industry publication C-Store Dive.
Kum & Go has 42 stores in the state . Most are in Tulsa or surrounding communities, but there are also stores in Cushing and Stillwater.
