Ole Miss fans cause chaos with 'f***ing ridiculous' decision to storm field before game had ended

As Ole Miss fans stormed the field after a momentous win over then-third-ranked Georgia, Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin called the decision 'f***ing ridiculous' as the game against the Bulldogs had not ended.

With 16 seconds left on the clock, fans from both sides of Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, rushed the turf, causing chaos, even if the result was a formality.

Before the Rebels offense could kneel the ball and bring the clock to all zeros, thousands of Ole Miss fans were on the field to celebrate.

Kiffin was caught on camera furious with the disruption to the game, not necessarily the passion from the Rebels fans moments before his biggest win as Ole Miss coach became official.

The field was cleared after several minutes, then the properly timed field storming occurred.

As part of the Ole Miss' field storming, both goal posts were removed from the ground and transported out of the stadium, akin to Vanderbilt's celebration over Alabama last month.

The Oxford (Mississippi) Police Department posted to X about the goal posts' removal saying, 'They got both of them' and 'See you soon on the Square Mr goalpost.'

The Square is the downtown district in Oxford, where the Ole Miss fans headed with the yellow goal posts. They did not dump them in a river like Vanderbilt's fans.

It is unclear if the Rebels' athletic department will be fined $250,000 or a half-million because of the pair of field-storming incidents.

The Southeastern Conference has fined every school a quarter-million when it has happened once, each time it has happened this season.

Ole Miss' fans were overjoyed, as a loss to Georgia would have likely ended any dreams of making the College Football Playoff. Now, the Rebels should be in the 12-team field if they win out.
