Omaha men's basketball falls to UNLV
LAS VEGAS — UNLV finished Thursday night's game on a 17-6 run over the last 4:30 to pull away from Omaha men's basketball 80-69.
UNO placed four players in double figures and hung close for 35 minutes before the UNLV secured the win.
UNO led 15-7 in the first five minutes but trailed 35-29 at halftime. A 14-2 run later put the Runnin' Rebels up 57-44 with 10 minutes left before the Mavs made their last push.
The Mavs hit four 3-pointers, including three by Ja'Sean Glover, in a two-minute span and tied it 63-63 with 4:43 left on a Marquel Sutton free throw.
But UNLV's Jalen Hill scored the next six points to spark the 17-6 game-ending run.
Glover hit five 3s and scored 17 points to lead UNO, while Sutton added 16 points and five rebounds. Kam Thomas and JJ White were next with 11 points each. UNO rebounded UNLV 33-31, but the Mavs committed 19 turnovers.
UNO (2-2) stays on the road to play Southern Utah at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
