One dead after auto-pedestrian crash on SH 71 in Bastrop

One person is dead after an auto-pedestrian collision on the 700 block of SH 71 in Bastrop Saturday morning.
The Bastrop Police Department stated on Facebook that they were dispatched to the crash at 11:29 a.m. on Saturday with aid from the Bastrop Fire Department.
The investigation stated that an adult female was attempting to cross the Eastbound main lanes of traffic when she was struck by a vehicle. CPR was performed, but the woman succumbed to her injuries.
No other information is available about the victim.
The driver of the vehicle reportedly sustained no injuries, and no other damages were reported. The investigation is still ongoing.
