KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) - Indiana State Police (ISP) share that one person was hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in Kosciusko County Thursday.

According to the department, the crash happened on the eastbound U.S. 30, near its intersection with State Road 19, around 2:45 p.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a white 2014 Mercedes van was behind a blue 2006 Peterbilt semi towing a covered trailer in the right lane of eastbound U.S. 30 approaching a stop light at its intersection with State Road 19.

When the stop light turned red, the white 2014 Mercedes van was unable to stop in time, rear-ending the blue 2006 Peterbilt semi towing a covered trailer.

The driver of the white 2014 Mercedes van, identified as 49-year-old Felix Farinola of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was flown from the crash scene to a regional hospital for crash-related injuries. His condition is unknown at this time.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office, Mentone Police Department, Etna Green Fire Department, and Lutheran EMS assisted ISP at the scene.
