One-stop shop for veterans in need of benefits held at VFW Post 573
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — In hopes of connecting those who have served to their entitled benefits, six organizations have banded together to provide access for those in need and created a one-stop shop in Clarksburg on Thursday.
The West Virginia Divisions of Veterans Assistance , Disabled American Veterans , Huntington VA Regional Benefit Office , Vet Center and the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center teamed up to help veterans and their families enroll in benefits and find necessary resources at VFW Post 573.
As a part of Huntington VA Regional Office's Appalachian Tour, Clarksburg was a pitstop between Petersburg, Gassaway and Friday's stop, Parkersburg.

"Any veteran who has never filed a claim or who's never had any type of VA assistance, we just encourage them to come to us. Come to the VA medical centers, reach out to the regional office. We want to make sure that our unaffiliated veterans, there's still a lot of veterans who unfortunately aren't receiving benefits for some reason, and our goal today, our goal this whole week has been to reach those veterans and any veteran needing help," Huntington VA Regional Office Coach Danny Henry said.
If you were not able to make it to the seminar on Thursday and are in need of assistance through any of these organizations, you can reach out to the Louis A. Johnson Medical Center at 304-623-3461, which can help guide you in the right direction.
