As the largest invasive species conference in North America, UMISC is celebrating 18 years of improving invasive species management, outreach, research and policy. University of Minnesota Duluth Recreational Sports Outdoor Program offersDry Tool Climbing Competition: UMD's RSOP and USA Ice Climbing host the seventh annual dry tooling competition. Try out ice tools in a controlled environment. Dry tooling is the art of climbing rock or artificial surfaces using ice climbing tools. Divisions will be based on wingspan and beginner vs. advanced entries. Registration deadline: 9 a.m. Nov. 16. All climbing gear, instruction, helmets and shoes provided. Arrowhead Fly Fishers Club: Nov. 19, Boomtown Grill and Bar, 4483 Martin Road, Duluth. Matthew Miller talks about his work as a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources conservation officer since 2007. His focus has been watercraft, sport and commercial fishing on the big lake and sport fishing activities on the tributaries. Matthew took his first fly-tying class when he was 10 years old.
