HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Two were arrested Wednesday in Evansville after 1.17 pounds of marijuana was found during a traffic stop.

An affidavit obtained by Eyewitness News says a vehicle was pulled over on Fulton Avenue after officers noticed the right taillight was broken. The affidavit goes on to say that officers could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. They also found a handgun in the middle of the two front seats.

Both the driver and a passenger were searched, and police say both had marijuana in their pockets. The driver was identified as Achilles Johnson, and the passenger was identified as Jushaun Norfleet.

The affidavit says Johnson and Norfleet were placed into handcuffs while officers searched the vehicle. THC vapes were found under a seat, and a blunt of green leafy substance was found in an ashtray. Bags of marijuana were found in the trunk as well as a backpack.

Police also found a handgun without a serial number that had a large compensator at the end of the barrel.

In total, 1.17 pounds of marijuana was found in the search. Johnson and Norfleet were taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail.
