Thanksgiving Come & Go Craft STROMSBURG — The Stromsburg Public Library will hold a Thanksgiving Come & Go Craft on Wednesday, Nov. 22 all day from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Come and make a turkey centerpiece for your table during Thanksgiving. Open to all ages.
‘Country Christmas’ at Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park
HENDERSON — Henderson Mennonite Heritage Park will hold a “Country Christmas” event on Saturday, Nov. 25 from 4 — 7 p.m. The entire park will be decorated with dozens of trees decked out by community volunteers, businesses, and organizations. Enjoy a stroll around the park, taking in the many festive sights and sounds. The decorated Christmas trees will be in all the buildings throughout the park for viewing. Santa Claus will be visiting the schoolhouse and handing out goodies to the kids. The Country Church will feature live Christmas music throughout the evening. Country school will be in session from 6 — 7 p.m. with Professor Larry Roberts. All children are invited to participate in some old-fashioned Christmas school lessons at the 73East schoolhouse. Hot chocolate, coffee, and cookies will be served in the Epp Barn loft during the event. Admission for the event is $10 for adults and free for kids 12 & under accompanied by an adult. The park is located 1 1⁄2 miles south of the Henderson I-80 Exit #342 on spur 93A.
Lighting of the Square
STROMSBURG — Celebrate the holidays in Stromsburg on Saturday, Nov. 25 during the Lighting of the Square. A Soup Supper will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Viking Center. Santa Wagon Rides will be given from 5 – 7 p.m. and the Lighting will take place at 5:30 p.m. Hot cocoa and cookies will be available and a Christmas Sing-A-Long will be held. Sponsored by the Stromsburg Chamber of Commerce. Attendees can also shop downtown Stromsburg during their Christmas Passport program Saturday, Nov. 25 through Saturday, Dec. 16.
American Red Cross Bloodmobile
GENEVA — The American Red Cross will hold their full sized bloodmobile on Monday, Nov. 27 at the Catholic Hall in Geneva from 11 a.m. until 4:45 p.m. It’s time for regular donors to get back on their schedules as donors attended “Grandparents Day – Homecoming – Football Playoffs” to support their family, friends and community events. If you don’t have an appointment for Nov. 27 call or text 402.366.9417 any time as the next Geneva drive will be Jan. 26, 2024. Power Red donors come from those with O Negative, O Positive, A Negative of B Negative blood types. If your blood type is A or B Positive, your plasma is needed so a whole blood donation is recommended.
