YES Tour

YORK — The community is invited to tour York Elementary School along with the York Chamber Board and York Ambassadors on Thursday, Sept. 19. Arrival and check in will be at 9:15 a.m. with the tour starting at 9:30 a.m. This event offers an exclusive opportunity to tour the school facilities and engage in a detailed presentation about the upcoming school bond. You'll learn about the bond's potential impact on school improvements, community growth and student success. This is a great chance to ask questions, get involved in the discussion and better understand the importance of the bond to the future of education in the York community. No RSVP is required.

York County Fair Foundation RaffleYORK — The York County Fair Foundation has only 400 tickets, for $50 each, left for their annual raffle with proceeds to be used for projects at the fairgrounds as directed by the York County Fair Foundation members and York County Ag Society Board members. There will be a drawing with 56 winners of $150, one for each week of the year (October 2024 – September 2025) plus one for each day of the fair – with winners announced weekly on Facebook and our website www.yorkcountyfair.com . If your ticket is drawn as a winner, the ticket goes back into the drawing and you are eligible for all additional drawings! Tickets can be purchased by contacting a Foundation Board member, a member of the York Co Ag Society, or at the York County Extension office. Tickets will be sold until September 30, 2024 or until all 400 tickets are sold. Thank you for supporting the York County Fair Foundation and the future of the York County Fair!

St. Joseph Altar Society Salad LuncheonYORK — St. Joseph Altar Society will be hosting their annual Salad Luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 19 in the lower level of the St. Joseph's Church at 5th & East Ave. Doors open at 11 a.m., serving from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meal tickets are $12 each for the all you can eat buffet of delicious salads and desserts. Takeout will also be available. Bring your friends and join in for a great meal, chances for the door prizes and handmade quilt and cash prizes.

York General Auxiliary 3rd Annual Women's Golf TournamentThe York General Auxiliary will be hosting their 3rd Annual Women's Golf Tournament on Friday, Sept. 20. The tournament is a 9 hole 4 person scramble (4 Person or 2 Person Team options are available!) and will be held at the York Country Club. Team entry includes a welcome gift, light breakfast, lunch, carts, and fun! The event is open to all women interested in playing in the tournament. AURORA — The Leadership Center in Aurora is set out to host the 4th Annual Fall Art Workshop from Sept. 20 — 25. There will be a 3-day course and a 5-day course in which nationally known artist-instructors will come to our community and instruct courses or take the time to grow their independent work. Anne Hebebrand, Heidi Larsen, and Nancy Perucca will be instructing courses on different types of media to be adaptable to all the artists that are coming. Workshops include instruction and guidance on oil, acrylic, mixed media, collages, and watercolor. Class sizes are limited to 15 individuals to ensure productive, quality instruction and rapport. Both instructed classes and guided studies are provided as enrollment options. High school and college students are offered a $50 discount at checkout by entering code 'StdtDsct' The Leadership Center is still accepting enrollment at this time. Fall Holiday Craft & Bake Sale

GENEVA — The Fall Holiday Craft & Bake Sale will be held at Geneva United Methodist Church in the Fussell Fellowship Hall on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Doors open at 9 a.m. with BBQ Box Meals to go starting at 11 a.m. Entry fee is either a canned/non-perishable food item or a cash donation to the food pantry. Boxed Meal is $45 Extra half rack of ribs $20. First come first served (limited supply).
