PA man charged after crack rock cocaine seized from his pocket in Marion County

FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WBOY) — A man has been charged after allegedly possessing crack rock cocaine during a controlled firearm buy in Fairmont.

On Nov. 12, troopers with the Marion County detachment of the West Virginia State Police assisted agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms "in the controlled delivery of a firearm" at a residence on Bunner Ridge Road in Fairmont, according to a criminal complaint.

During that time, troopers detained Tyree Holmes, 28, of Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania, who was present at the residence, troopers said.

While detaining Holmes, troopers noted he had "a plastic bag in his pocket" which contained presumed crack rock cocaine and $587 in cash; in a Mirandized statement, Holmes said that "the substance located on his person is crack cocaine" weighing 8.7 grams, according to the complaint.

Holmes has been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. He is being held in North Central Regional Jail.

A man who worked for the U.S. government has been charged with leaking classified information assessing Israel's earlier plans to attack Iran, according to court papers filed Wednesday. The man, identified as Asif William Rahman, was arrested by the FBI this week in Cambodia and was due to make his first court appearance in Guam.
