Packers’ Quarterback Jordan Love Likely To Start Against Vikings

No news should be good news.

The Green Bay Packers made two elevations for their gameday roster against Minnesota — and neither one was a quarterback.

That means Jordan Love will be active and almost certainly back in the starting lineup when the Packers (2-1) host Minnesota (3-0) in a key NFC North battle Sunday at noon.

Green Bay elevated quarterback Sean Clifford from the practice squad each of the last two weeks, then Love was inactive on game day.

On Saturday, the Packers elevated cornerbacks Kamal Hadden and Robert Rochell from the practice squad to the active roster for gameday. Those moves mean cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Carrington Valentine will be challenged to play Sunday.

Alexander was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report with a groin and quadriceps injury. Valentine was doubtful with an ankle injury.

Love suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in a Week 1 loss to Philadelphia and missed the last two games. In his stead, Malik Willis shined and led the Packers to wins over Indianapolis and Tennessee.

Willis completed 12-of-14 passes for 122 yards and threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Dontayvion Wicks in a 16-10 win over the Colts. Willis also had six carries for 41 yards, didn't throw an interception and had a 126.8 passer rating against Indianapolis.

In Green Bay's 30-14 win over Tennessee last week , Willis went 13-of-19 for 202 yards with one touchdown pass and no interceptions. Willis also ran for a team-high 73 yards and a TD and finished with a passer rating of 120.9.

By the looks of it, though, Green Bay should have its franchise quarterback under center against Minnesota.
