SCRANTON, Pa. — Paint the Planet Pink happened in Scranton for the first time this weekend.
The 11th annual Color Me Pink 5K, fun walk, and gentleman's dash took place along Courthouse Square in the city's downtown.
"So what we wanted to do is really just expand our outreach. Part of our mission is to bring the community together, so we joke a lot about the invisible line between Luzerne and Lackawanna County. So we wanted to cross that line this year and bring two communities of people together for a great cause," said Barb Sciandra, President & CEO of Paint The Planet Pink.
The Paint the Planet Pink race was all in preparation for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
