Palm Beach International Airport ranks 7th among medium-sized airports

The Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) has made it in the top rankings yet again.

The airport was recognized by J.D. Power— a self-described global leader in consumer insights, advisory services and data and analytics— as one of the nation's top medium-sized airports, ranking it 7 on the organization's list.

"Being recognized by J.D. Power as one of the nation's top medium-size airports is a testament to our ongoing commitment to delivering an exceptional travel experience at Palm Beach International Airport," said Director of Airports Laura Beebe.

Palm Beach County says the airport will be expanding Concourse B, where there will be more restaurant and retail space. The expansion will also include two new passenger jet bridges, expanded restrooms, adult changing areas, an area for those with sensory sensitivities and nursing stations.

The release from Palm Beach County says the ranking comes after the readers of 'Travel + Leisure' ranked PBI as one of the nation's best airports.

The county says the airport continues to break records with nearly 8.1 million passengers traveling through the airport in a 12-month period.

In addition, PBI's top ranking scores, a new airline is expected to come to the airport on Nov. 14. It will offer a service to Toronto, Canada. The county continues that seasonal flights are returning to the airport in the coming months, including a daily nonstop service to Los Angeles on Jet Blue starting on Oct. 27. Other seasonal flights returning include service to Minneapolis, Chicago, Houston and the Washington-Dulles International Airport.
