“Paradise” in Palm Beach
A vibrant exhibition of new paintings by artist Chris Artabasy will be shown for the first time in Palm Beach.
"The show is going to be a feast for the senses, with each piece having dreamy layer after layer evoking nature and wonder," says gallery owner Jennifer Balcos.
Artabasy's paintings are characterized by vibrant color palettes, bold strokes, and intricate layers.
His artistic process involves applying thin transparent layers of oil paint in sweeping gestures, which are then overlaid with rapid and intricate lines of oil bars. This technique results in pieces rich in texture, depth, and energy, with hidden layers adding complexity.
"I found myself nose to nose with each painting while discovering something new each time I examined the works," Balcos says.
Inspired by a variety of sources, including nature, graffiti, and music, Artabasy's work blends these influences with his own experiences. He explores the fundamental elements of color, motion, and fluidity.
Artabasy, born in Wisconsin, lives and works in Atlanta. He received a Fine Art and Visual Communications degree from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale. Artabasy has been exhibited nationally and internationally and will be featured at the New and Abstract Gallery Berlin starting in November.
