Pedestrian in critical condition after hit-and-run in Norwich
A pedestrian is in critical condition following a hit-and-run in Norwich on Tuesday.
The Norwich Communications Center received a 911 call about the crash at 5:25 p.m. and dispatched emergency crews to the area of 655 East Main St., according to Sgt. Richard Cannata of the Norwich Police Department .
Cannata said officers who responded to the scene found a 66-year-old man suffering from injuries to his head and torso. He was initially taken to William W. Backus Hospital and later transferred to Hartford Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, according to Cannata.
Police do not have any information about the vehicle that struck the man, which took off from the scene, Cannata said.
Investigators are seeking witnesses or individuals in the area who may have video surveillance footage.
