Person dies after jumping from downtown Harrisburg building

Police are investigating after a person died by suicide after jumping from a Harrisburg building Thursday afternoon.

Harrisburg police told PennLive they responded to the 200 block of Strawberry Street, near Strawberry Square, after the incident was reported after 12 p.m.

An adult was found at the scene and died after they were transported to a hospital, police said.

Police said it's unclear if the person was pronounced dead while en route to the hospital or at the hospital. No additional details were provided by police.
