Pets with Potential: Meet Poppie, Caroline, and Snakizer

ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) - This week's Pets with Potential come from the Franklin County Animal Rescue in St. Albans.

Captain Poppie is an eight-year-old male cat who really is a timid soul. Whatever his life experience before he found his way to us has led him to be distrustful of humans. Left to his own devices he has a playful side, which really is a delight to observe. He would be happier as a "working cat" managing your barn keeping busy making the rodents stay away than he would as a lap cat. However, if you have a barn or similar environment in need of an adorable supervisor, he asks for warm meals and a cozy place to nap and a patient human to allow him time to get settled and used to his new space.

Sweet Caroline is a Carolina dog/shepherd mix who is just over a year old. She is a very smart girl who takes commands and listens well. As her breed and age suggest, she is high-energy, though well-meaning, and will prefer a home that will give her consistent activity and time for play and movement. She would be an awesome hiking/adventure buddy who may just need a bit of guidance. Because of her size and energy level (and lack of exposure), we believe she would best fit in with a home without felines.

Snakizer is an incredibly sweet three-year-old male cat. He loves human affection and gets so excited for visitors. He is housed with another cat, and being from a home with a higher population of felines, he would really love to find a home that has a kitty friend for him (or to bring another kitty friend home with him) or possibly a human who works from home and would be around to be his constant pal. Snakizer has been diagnosed with glaucoma in his left eye and requires medication.
